The prospect of gambling sometimes escapes me. The Lottery can be quite exciting, but there is usually a very small amount of money placed on this, something like a pound a week. There is a point though, when gambling reaches a line where it does become an issue. Does gambling work all that brilliantly, and do you understand it?

Simply speaking Gambling is where you place your own money as a bet, risking it for a higher value of cash. This is where the gambling factor comes in, here is a simple example of gambling at the races (a bit different to the casino, but the same principle):

If you were to place $10 on a horse that has the odds; 10:1 then for every $10 you put down on this horse, you would receive $100 back if the horse one. The 1 represents your bet and the 10 represents what the likelihood of that horse winning is, and how much you will receive in winnings. It is multiplied, so in this case your bet would be multiplied by ten.

This can be a very confusing concept, so lets try to look at some of these deciding factors in more detail. Try not to spread your gaming between to many different games, it can be easy to get lost in the experience. Don’t ever forget while you are there, that Casinos are not friends. There is always a reason why people at hotels and casinos are nice to you. Keeping you there is the easiest way for them to get some more money out of you. There is every chance that they will spoil you with your own money, offering you a free nights stay or some drinks and food.

All in all they are the winners, they never lose. Even though you find yourself going ahead a lot, the casino will always win. They are in business, if we won all the time they wouldn’t be. The hardest part of all of this is actually forcing yourself to stop. It is important to remember that you are spending money, which means that you need to make sure you know how to play the games. Most importantly set yourself a budget to spend. Anything that you win, make sure you put to one side!

Las Vegas holidays are the most obvious place to go gambling, but there are casinos everywhere, Florida holidays are a less obvious place, but they still have them, just try not to lose big, if all else fails, don’t gamble at all take a holiday at the Le Sport St Lucia!
